Budget Hotels at Ottawa Airport
Ottawa Airport’s hotel prices fall in a narrower range than at bigger Canadian airports, and free shuttles, breakfasts, parking and pools are common. This guide lists what each rate includes.
The entry point
Days Inn by Wyndham Ottawa Airport is the cheapest of the five. It includes a free continental breakfast, free guest parking and a free airport shuttle. It has no pool, and the hotel’s own website lists the fitness centre as closed until further notice. For a pool, the Hilton Garden Inn and the Fairfield have one.
Mid-range hotels
- Hilton Garden Inn Ottawa Airport: a kilometre from the terminal with a free shuttle from 7:00 am to 11:00 pm, a pool open 6:00 am to 11:00 pm, a restaurant and free parking.
- Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Ottawa Airport: free breakfast from 6:00 am, an indoor pool and hot tub, a 24-hour gym, and studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom suites in the same price band as the Hilton Garden Inn.
- Homewood Suites by Hilton Ottawa Airport: all suites with full kitchens and a free hot breakfast, in the mid-range price band. On a stay of several nights, cooking in the suite reduces the cost of meals.
What the walkway costs
ALT Hotel Ottawa Airport is the most expensive of the five. It is the only one connected to the terminal by an indoor walkway, so there is no shuttle to wait for and no outdoor walk, including for early departures in winter.
Ways to save
The O-Train Airport Link reaches the terminal for about CAD 4.10, in place of a taxi. For a week away with a car, compare the hotel’s parking charge with the airport’s weekly rate of CAD 105 before assuming a package is cheaper: see park, sleep and fly. For several nights, the full kitchens at the Homewood Suites let you cook instead of eating out.
